In an increasingly connected and digitised world, the need to charge phones, PCs or other electronic devices during a journey has become a priority for many passengers. Airports, in particular, are places where people often spend long hours waiting, both for departing flights and for connections. In this context, ensuring access to reliable and affordable charging sources is key to improving the travel experience.
For Rome Fiumicino Airport, Terminal 1, Urmet has provided a solution to meet this need with the installation of UNEL charging points (better known as Shuko or P40) and USB chargers of type A and C. These charging points, offering a double standard, allow passengers to charge a wide range of devices, from laptops to mobile phones, from tablets to other electronic gadgets. This versatility is essential to adapt to the different technological needs of modern travellers.
160 charging points were installed on double-sided columns. Each side has 2 universal sockets P40, 2P+ T16A-250V and 2 power supply units with USB outputs of type A and C, 5V, 3.0A, of the NEA series in anthracite colour.
The integration of these charging points represents a further increase in the services offered at the airport, adding considerable value for passengers. The ability to charge the devices not only increases the comfort, but also the serenity of travellers. Business travellers can continue to work without interruption, while tourists can keep in touch with friends and family or entertain themselves while waiting.
This type of intervention demonstrates an attention to detail and a willingness to offer a quality service, helping to make every trip a more pleasant and comfortable experience, improving the overall perception of Rome airport.
