The Ecopassport PEP (Product Environmental Profile) is the international reference program for environmental declarations of products in the electrical, electronics, and heating and cooling industries.
It is based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which quantifies the relevant environmental impacts in order to fulfill the requirements of the ISO 14025 standard.
What are Urmet's motivations for choosing PEP certification?
- The desire to identify and improve the most impactful life cycle aspects/phases of its Product.
- The drive to design, produce and market increasingly sustainable products.
- A vision that goes beyond current legislation by anticipating future possible demands in Green Buildings certifications worldwide.
- A growing focus by its customers on sustainable products whose environmental impact is communicated clearly, transparently and effectively.
- A willingness to enhance the value of its Product in the market through a value statement.
Each verified and approved PEP is published on the Program Operator website “PEP ecopassport® program”.
Currently Urmet has obtained PEP recognition for items 1760/5, 1760/6 and 1761/6 of the VOG5 range.
